Wonder if you are confusing VIEWING attachments inline? Under VIEW on the menu bar is a setting for this?Īgain, more info would help. If you Google "thunderbird email inline image" you'll find a lot of references to this. Have you create a message with an inline image and sent it to yourself as a test? I've not had any complaints of this happening from mail I sent out?

Whilst is it is possible to download emails and then forward them to any email address, there is no point downloading emails to forward them to yourself at another email address just to download it again. If Thunderbird is in 'offline' mode, then TB is not connected to internet and so will not download nor send. Messages that had inline images sent via probably very old TB's (I don't know when this feature was added?) or other mail clients would come in with empty boxes instead of the image. If you are away from the computer then it is not exactly very secure as anyone may have access to the computer and therefore access to see your emails and passwords etc. I am sort of confused here as to what you mean?
